UN warns of climate imbalance

Once there was…
a planet with a natural, life-supporting balance—an atmosphere that held just enough heat to keep oceans flowing, seasons turning, and communities thriving.

Every day,
humanity burned coal, oil, and gas; cleared forests; expanded industry and transport—and greenhouse gases quietly piled up overhead, trapping more and more heat. For many of us, the change felt gradual: a warmer summer here, a strange storm season there.

Until one day,
the signals became impossible to ignore, and the UN’s weather agency put it into stark, official terms.

On 23 March 2026, the United Nations reported that all-time high greenhouse gas concentrations in Earth’s atmosphere continue to drive heat records on land and sea, with long-lasting consequences for humanity, according to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). The agency warned of a record “climate imbalance” as planetary warming accelerates.

Because of that,
the “new normal” is no longer a stable baseline—it’s a moving target.
